Jakarta (Shirogadget) – Lee Ji-eun or better known as K-pop star IU admitted that she wanted to do more acting since playing in the film “Broker” directed by Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda.

"It is a very good experience to star in a film like this. Thanks to this project, I came to like films and want to do more (in films) if I get a good offer,” he said in a media interview, quoted from Yonhap on Wednesday.

IU is involved in another big screen project this year, namely the sports comedy drama "Dream" directed by Lee Byung-heon (“Extreme Job”-2019). In "Dream", IU collided with Park Seo-joon (“Itaewon Class”-2019).

In the film, IU plays a young unmarried mother named So-young. This character leaves her baby in a baby box.

IU admitted that she had hoped to play a character related to the role of parenting until finally Kore-eda offered the role of a young mother in the film. The director was also impressed by IU’s acting in “My Mister”.

“I don’t know why I had that idea at the time. I just want to play the mother character, whatever it is. And director Kore-eda chose me, and I really wanted to play this character. Like a coincidence,” he said.

IU realized that she was lucky to be able to achieve success through the film “Broker” which was made by a Cannes-winning director and starred by a Cannes-winning actor. But he also realized that he needed to do better in order to have a career in the film industry.
